Ty grew up raising and showing hogs and cattle with his family.  He attended Black Hawk East and then transferred to Western Illinois University where he graduated with a degree in agriculture science. While in college, Ty was a member of  two livestock judging teams that were very competitive at the national level.  Ty is an account manager for Lindner Show Feeds. He and his wife Ronel raise show pigs with their two children son Mason and daughter McLain.
